Auto Touring Details
Auto touring options within Kenai Fjords are limited; howeve, the surrounding area is perfect for seeing the region by car. The Exit Glacier area of the park (on Herman Leirer Road) is the only part of the park accessible by road. This 8.4-mile road runs from the Seward Highway straight to the Exit Glacier Nature Center, offering views of the glacier along the way. Visitors interested in auto touring do have convenient access to the Seward Highway, a designated scenic highway that runs over 100 miles north to Anchorage. The Seward Highway offers incredible views of the Kenai Peninsula and the nearby Turnigan Arm.
