The vast majority of Glacier National Bay visitors explore the park by water; the park's inlets, bays and passageways allow for almost limitless exploration by boat. Visitors have the option to explore Glacier Bay by private vessel on onboard cruise ships, tour vessels, or charter boats. For day trips in Glacier Bay, there is only one boat offering scheduled daily tours, and only during summer months (May through September): the _Baranof Wind_. Guests on the Baranof Wind will be transported around the bay and enjoy views of the park's glaciers, mountains, and wildlife. The eight-hour tour is accompanied by a Glacier Bay National Park naturalist, who will narrate the tour and answer questions from guests. The tour boat also offers drop-off service for kayakers and hikers. The day tour costs $195 per adult and $97.50 per child (ages 3 -12 years), with a boarding time of 7:00 a.m. at the Glacier Bay Lodge in Bartlett Cove. Guests can expect to return to the lodge around 3:30 p.m. on the same day. Lunch and beverages are included in the trip cost. Reservations can be made by calling 888-229-8687.
