Bartlett Lake Trail Details
Park at the Visitor Center and walk the 0.25 miles to the Bartlett River Trailhead. Branching off the Bartlett River Trail about 0.75 miles from the trailhead, this primitive trail climbs the glacial moraine, winding its way around boulders and through temperate forest. This rugged day-long excursion promises more solitude than the other Bartlett Cove hikes. Keep an eye out for wildlife, and don't forget to bring food, water, and rain gear. Bartlett Lake is an eight-mile out-and-back trail, so once you reach the lake just re-trace your steps back to your starting point. Alternative: You can also reach this trail from the Towers Road Trailhead outside the park. The first 1.7 miles are open to bicycling on an old railroad bed that historically led to an airport tower beacon. From there, it is 2.9 miles further to reach Bartlett Lake.
