Beach Trail Details
Departing from Glacier Bay Lodge, the Beach Trail follows the shore for 1 mile. It will lead you through beach meadow habitat as well as temperate forest. Turn around and retrace your steps back back to the lodge for an easy 2 mile stroll. An excellent place for bird-watching, this trail traverses the ecotone between woody and grassy habitats, a great place for birds to forage and find shelter. It also gives you a vantage point from which to spot seals, whales, and sea lions when you're near the water. Summertime promises wildflowers too, particularly in the beach meadows.
