Bartlett Cove/Beardslee Islands Details
Start this paddle trip right from the dock at Bartlett Cove and point your bow toward the Beardslee Islands, a day's paddle away across generally calm water, with protected coves and great beaches to camp on. Make it a three-day adventure by adding a day to explore the Beardslee Islands before heading back. There are few drinking water sources on this route, so plan to bring along enough water for your trip. As with all paddle trips, tides and weather can dictate what is possible and what is safe at the time. The park service broadcasts the weather via VHF radio twice daily. Permits and an orientation video are required for all backcountry travel and boating, so stop by the Visitor Center at Bartlett Cove before your trip to register and to get vital safety information. Make reservations for kayak rentals, drop-offs, and guided trips well in advance of your trip. Glacier Bay Sea Kayaks (907-697-2257) is located at the boat dock in Bartlett Cove and offers outfitting and guide services.
