Whitewater Rafting and Float Trips Details
Visitors to Denali National Park can enjoy a variety of adventures on the Nenana River, from easy float trips to whitewater rafting adventures and challenging Class IV rapids in the Nenana Canyon. The river is located just outside the Denali National Park entrance, where it roughly parallels the George Parks Highway/Highway 3 and forms the park's eastern boundary. Some longer whitewater trips run the Talkeetna River, as well. Many outfitters are located in the Nenana Canyon (a.k.a. Glitter Gulch) area just north of the park entrance on the Parks Highway. Note that these trips and outfitters are "at" Denali, not "in" the park, where float trips and whitewater rafting are prohibited.
