Skiing and Snowshoeing Details
Cross-country skiers and snowshoers converge on the Murie Science and Learning Center -- the winter headquarters of Denali National Park -- before setting off on outings on the park's network of winter trails. These include sled-dog trails in and around the entrance area and the Denali Park Road itself. You can also downhill ski or snowboard in Denali, but obviously there's no chairlift service, so be prepared to climb first. Outfitters also lead guided downhill ski trips deep into the Denali backcountry near the foot of Mt. McKinley. Winter sports lovers should bring their own gear, although the park does have a limited number of snowshoes that visitors can borrow.
