Igloo Creek Campground Details
Located creekside between Cathedral Mountain and Igloo Mountain, near Mile 35 of Denali Park Road, Igloo Creek Campground has just seven primitive campsites, vault toilets, and no potable water. (The creek is a clear-running and dependable water source, but water must be purified before use.) Only tents (no vehicles) are permitted, and visitors must use the Camper Bus to get here. This campsite is a good base for day hiking without having to take a bus elsewhere in the park; the area also is home to a variety of wildlife, large and small. Nearby Igloo Mountain is a good place to spot Dall Sheep, and dinosaur footprints have also been found in this area. No campsites here are specifically designated as accessible, though most are level. Surfaces are typically native soils with roots and rocks. One restroom is wheelchair-accessible. The campground is open mid-May to mid-September. No advance reservations are permitted at Igloo Creek, so you'll need to check availability at the Wilderness Access Center or Riley Creek Mercantile when you arrive at Denali.
