Sable Pass Details

The area around Sable Pass is closed to visitor activities beyond the surface of Denali Park Road, but the hiker's loss is the tourist's gain as the undisturbed tundra makes this a hotbed for animal activity. The stop at mile 39 of the park road is one of the best viewing opportunities for grizzly bears, who like to snack on the berries that grow alongside the road. You may also see caribou and wolves here.
