Camping Details

Denali has six established campgrounds: Riley Creek, Savage River, Sanctuary, Teklanika, Igloo Creek, and Wonder Lake. Reservations should be made in advance if possible, online at [http://www.reservedenali.com](http://www.reservedenali.com). All campgrounds have flush and/or vault toilets. None has electrical or water hookups for RVs. Only Riley Creek, Savage River, and Teklanika have sites for vehicles; the others are tent-only. Riley Creek has the only designated accessible campsites, while Savage River has the only group sites. Campground rules include: * Check in and check out at all campgrounds is 11 a.m. Check-in at Riley Creek Mercantile or the Wilderness Access Center. * ALL food, beverages, food containers, coolers, cooking utensils, and scented items like soap, sunscreen and toothpaste must be stored in a closed, hard-sided vehicle or in a bear-proof locker (provided on-site) at all times other than cooking. Store and cook food well away from sleeping areas. * Keep campsites clean at all times. Wash all dishes immediately. Do not cook directly on fire grates. Dispose of all used foil. Scrape unwanted food from plates and pans and dispose in the bear-resistant dumpsters in campgrounds. Never leave food unattended, even briefly. * Don't feed any animals. * Pets are allowed in campgrounds and on campground roads, but must be leashed at all times. * Fires are permitted in established fire grates only, at Riley Creek, Savage River and Teklanika River only. You may collect wood that is both dead and on the ground, but sawing or cutting wood for harvest is prohibited. Firewood is sold at Riley Creek Mercantile. Never leave campfires unattended. * Quiet hours are 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. * Each campsite is limited to no more than three tents and eight people per site, except Wonder Lake, where the limit is no more than three tents and four people per site. * Campsites are chosen upon arrival in the campground, not in advance. * There is a 14-night maximum in park campgrounds in the summer. * There is a $6 booking fee per reservation. Cancellations must be made by 11 a.m. the day before your stay in order to receive a refund (cancellation fees apply).
