The Langdale Pikes Details

The north side of the Great Langdale valley is comprised of the Langdale Pikes, a series of peaks that includes the Pike of Stickle, Loft Crag, Harrison Stickle, and Pavey Ark. Of these, Harrison Stickle is the highest. The peaks are typically climbed together, with common routes beginning at the New Dungeon Ghyll Hotel or the Old Dungeon Ghyll Hotel in Great Langdale; Dungeon Ghyll is a ravine on the north side of the valley, but it is narrow and inaccessible to hikers, who instead ascend via Stickle Ghyll to Stickle Tarn.
