Plan Around Lodging
A good stop is not just something to read about. Once it belongs on the day, move into a saved trip and build the route around it.
Use this detail page to confirm that the stop is worth it, then carry that decision into a trip draft while the park context is still fresh.
Lodging Details
As National Parks in the UK are not state-owned there is no official lodging in the Lake District National Park. Instead most accommodation is owned and managed by private owners or occasionally organisations like the National Trust, Youth Hostel Association and Field Studies Council. There are plenty of hotels, B&Bs, guesthouses, inns, cottages, hostels, campsites and caravan parks to choose from and the vast majority are assessed and certificated by Cumbria Tourism, the regional tourism organisation. If you book certain accommodation through the Lake District National Park website, the park receives a commission, which contributes to its conservation work. Some accommodation providers and attractions are members of Nurture Lakeland, a local charity that connects visitors with conservation and access improvement projects in the Lake District.
