Grasmere Details

One of the smaller lakes in the Lake District at about a mile long and 1/2-mile wide, Grasmere is south of the village to which it gives its name and is most famously associated with the poet William Wordsworth, who lived in and loved the area. You can swim in the lake, as well as rent canoes and rowboats between March and early November from the refreshment kiosk on the southwest shore.
