Water Catchment Trail Details
This trail connects North Shore Road (Highway 20) with Centerline Road (Highway 10) and passes an interesting sight along the way: the Caneel Bay Water Catchment. As the name implies, this is a mechanism for capturing water for municipal use. This odd concrete bowl (for lack of a better description) is near the north end of the trail, at a point where the hike transitions from roadway to actual trail and dives into the forest. This is a hike of 1.6 miles round trip, gaining some 450 feet in elevation as you ascend. The path is steep in places, but nothing too concerning. Once you climb to Centerline Road, it's time to turn back and descend to your starting point.
