Ranger-Led Programs Details

Each week, park rangers lead a number of excursions and tours. The Reef Bay Hike ($40; budget 6 hours) is a popular ranger-led activity that takes guests on a hike from the island's interior to Reef Bay with a ranger who will elucidate on the flora, fauna, history, and culture of the island along the way. At the Cinnamon Bay Education Center you can visit the Archaeology Lab and speak with archaeologists and interns as they work (free; budget at least 30 minutes). Learn about current digs, artifacts, and island history from the folks who get their hands dirty uncovering relics of the past. Bird-watching excursions at the Francis Bay Trailhead (free; budget 90 minutes) introduce visitors to the feathered residents of the island.
