Johnny Horn Trail Details
The Johnny Horn Trail can be accessed most easily from the Annaberg Sugar Plantation: park there and take the one-mile Leinster Bay Trail along the shore of Watermelon Bay to the point where the two trails meet. From here, the Johnny Horn Trail moves south and away from the coast into an area of low hills, meeting the Brown Bay Trail about 0.5 miles into the hike. Stay on the Johnny Horn Trail and follow it another 1.3 miles to where it reaches Base Hill (pronounced "Boss"). Here you can loop a small hill and return to Leinster Bay Trail or walk down a steep paved road to the Emmaus Moravian Church and get a ride to the other end. Note that this unnamed road serves as the southern trailhead for the Johnny Horn, Brown Bay, and Leinster Bay trails if you want to hike north and end at the beach.
