Boating Details

It's one thing to be in the park, and another thing entirely to see it from the water. Since you'll probably leave your standup paddleboard, kayak, or sailboat at home, you'll need to make arrangements to get on the water when you arrive. Lucky for you, there are several outfitters who will set you up with equipment or charters. Cinnamon Bay Campground has watersports rentals available, from kayaks ($20/one hour, $30/two hours, $50/four hours, $75/day, or $225/week for single kayaks; $35/one hour, $45/two hours, $60/four hours, $90/day, or $350/week for tandem kayaks) to standup paddleboards ($35/one hour, $50/two hours, $65/four hours, $90/day, or $250/week) to windsurfing gear (lessons are $200/person, rentals $75/one hour for beginners, $125/two hours for experienced riders). Caneel Bay Resort has complimentary watersports and instructions for guests, including sunfish sailboats, ocean kayaks and standup paddleboards; they also have sunset cruises and half- or full-day sails (cruises and sailing excursions starting at $85 per guest). Several other companies provide charter services, sailing lessons at different skill levels, and kayak and paddleboard rentals. Virgin Islands Ecotours rents standup paddleboards ($65 per day or $165 per week), single kayaks ($50 per day or $145 per week) and double kayaks ($65 per day or $165 per week). At [visitusvi.com](http://www.visitusvi.com/stjohn/water_activities) you'll find a list of charter services and watersports rental businesses. If it's a motorized watercraft you're after -- jet skis and power boats, for example --you'll have to look outside the park boundaries for rentals and a place to play.
