Auto Touring
With only two main routes through the park, it's easy to take a windshield tour of St. John.
Plan Around Auto Touring
A good stop is not just something to read about. Once it belongs on the day, move into a saved trip and build the route around it.
Use this detail page to confirm that the stop is worth it, then carry that decision into a trip draft while the park context is still fresh.
Auto Touring Details
On St. John there are two main roads, Centerline (Route 10) and North Shore (Route 20), and both traverse the national park. Routes 104, 107, and 108 round out the major roads on the island; a jeep or offroad vehicle is advisable on some dirt roads, like 108. You can make your own tour or negotiate with a cab driver to act as a guide. To drive from Cruz Bay to East End (roughly one end of the island to the other), it will take about 40 minutes on Route 10 or 20 without stops.
