Vermillion Lakes Details

Another of the easier bicycling rides found within Banff National Park is along the Vermilion Lakes Drive route. Starting off of Mt. Norquay Road, south of the Trans-Canada Highway, follow the road and pass the three shallow lakes that comprise Vermilion Lakes. These lakes are surrounded by marshland, making them a rich habitat for wildlife, and in the distance you'll see Banff's signature mountain peak, Mount Rundle. Pack a snack to take with you and stop at one of the small docks to sit and take it all in. Be sure to follow the park's rules and regulations to make the most of your ride: be bear aware; ride on designated trails; avoid riding during extreme conditions; help preserve the trails' quality; know your limits; yield to other riders; and, of course, leave no trace. **Trail Type**: Out and Back **Difficulty:** Easy **Distance:** 8.6 kilometers roundtrip (5.3 miles)
