Tunnel Mountain Village II Details

The Tunnel Mountain Village II campground is closed for upgrades until fall 2016. Once it reopens, the 188 camping sites found within the campground will be available for reservations for the season, January 1 - June 11. A maximum of two vehicles, two tents, one RV and six people are permitted on each site. Electrical and walk-in camping sites will be available: electrical-only sites (15 and 30 AMPS) can accommodate RVs up to 15 meters (50 feet), and a small number of these sites have fire pits. The walk-in camping area has 34 sites, and campers using these sites must park and access the campsite by foot. The campground features flush toilets, showers, a sanitation dump, disability access and interpretation programs. Fire pits are available, but not in all campsites, so be sure to consider which have fire pits and which don't when making reservations. Fees for Tunnel Mountain Village II are $27.40-$32.30/night and $8.80 for fire pit use (fees subject to change). Check-in time for all campgrounds is 2 p.m., and check out is 11 a.m. Note that there isn't any Internet/Wi-Fi service at the campgrounds. Camping is popular within Banff National Park, and there are plenty of camp sites from which to choose during your visit. You're welcome to make [reservations](https://reservation.pc.gc.ca/Banff?Type=1&language=en) (1-877-737-3783) before your arrival (the busiest times at the campground are June through September), but if you decide to wing it, keep in mind that sites are made available on a first-come, first-served basis. Camping fees vary by campsite and are in addition to park entry fees; cash, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, debit cards and travelers checks are accepted forms of payment. If camping in Banff National Park, the rule of thumb is to be prepared for anything. To help you prepare for your camping trip, park rangers suggest you bring along with you: warm and waterproof clothing; hats and mitts/gloves (weather can be unpredictable year-round); umbrellas; groundsheet for your tent; sleeping mat; warm sleeping bag; and extra blankets.
