Ross Lake Details
Though there isn't any elevation gain on the Ross Lake trail, it's still rated difficult because of its winds and dips through a sub-alpine forest before arriving at the small lake nestled against a rock wall. Be alert during the first (and last) 100 meters (328 feet) of your ride, where you may encounter horse traffic. For more of a challenge, follow a 1.3 kilometer (0.8 mile) trail along Ross Creek to the Great Divide Road to make it a loop return. Trail guides and cycling maps are available, and be sure to follow the park's rules and regulations to make the most of your ride: be bear aware; ride on designated trails; avoid riding during extreme conditions; help preserve the trails' quality; know your limits; yield to other riders; and, of course, leave no trace. **Trail Type:** Out and Back **Difficulty:** Difficult **Distance:** 14.6 kilometers round trip (9.1 miles) **Trailhead:** behind Chateau Lake Louise staff residences
