Mule Shoe Lake Details
The horse-shaped pond is popular with elk - and visitors. Elk enjoy grazing along Mule Shoe Lake, and wildlife lovers enjoy stopping to see the elk in their native habitats. The lake was once a large bend in the Bow Valley, but now, during seasonal flooding of old river channels, provides a diverse habitat in the area with still water and wet shoreline habitats. Here you'll find another pristine picnic area surrounded by white trunked aspens. There are several picnic tables that look over the lake as well as restrooms.
