Sawback Details
Sawback was burned in 1993 to make way for more life. In 1993, a controlled burn in Sawback, known as the Flames of Life, was set to increase the growth of the aspen trees, therefore benefiting the park's browsings animals such as elk, which are in turn managed by the wolf population. Sawback is an example of park management at its best. You'll find picnic tables and information on the burn at the Sawback pullout.
