Bow Valley Parkway Overview Details
Not only that, but the 48-kilometer (30-mile) scenic heritage road offers a bit of everything: viewpoints, picnic sites, trails, and 13 roadside interpretative panels along the way. You'll want to take it slow and enjoy the drive, and it's narrow and curvy, which pretty much ensures that you take it slow and enjoy the drive. Be sure to watch for wildlife and bicyclists along the roadside, too. The parkway is open year-round, but closed between Johnston Canyon Campground and the Fireside Picnic Area between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m. March 1 through June 25 to ensure the area remains safe for wildlife.
