Crescent Rock Trail Details

This semi-circuit hike begins at a marker post across Skyline Drive from the Crescent Rock Overlook (mile 44.4 on Skyline Drive). The trail climbs a bit and then steadily descends along an abandoned road. The footing is good and fairly smooth. The path leads you to a hemlock grove. You'll join up with the Limberlost Trail and eventually head back uphill to your starting point. Before the park was established, Crescent Rock served as the site for religious revivals and Easter services at sunrise. Pause here for a minute to soak up the phenomenal views before heading out for your walk.
