Stanford Trail Details
Connecting the Stanford House and the Brandywine Gorge Trail and Creek, this short but steep trail heads through an open meadow into an airy oak forest dotted with spring daffodils and wildflowers. A side trail leads to Averill Pond, which is a wonderfully tranquil spot for picnics and repose among the arching trees, damselflies, and deer. The trail was named after an early area settler that rose as a leader of his community, and in his spirit the trail continues to be maintained and renewed by the Cleveland Hiking Club and local Eagle Scouts.
