Route 706/Nisqually-Longmire Road Details

Not only does this road connect the park's Nisqually Entrance to the Longmire area, it also is one of the few parks roads that is kept open year-round. The road is normally open as far as Longmire, but severe weather may close the segment from Longmire to Paradise. Also known as Route 706 or Paradise Road East. Biking is permitted on this road from the entrance to Paradise, but be aware that the 19-mile ride includes 3,400 feet in elevation gain.
