Cedar Swamp Mountain Details

The mountain is accessible via the Sargent Mountain South Ridge Trail. The trail begins on a carriage road and gradually rises over the wooded side of Cedar Swamp Mountain before dipping down and crossing a small brook. Take the spur trail to reach Cedar Swamp's summit, which is very similar to the Tablelands of Maine's Katahdin Mountain: flat, wide open, and filled with wildflowers and stunted evergreens. On a clear day, hikers can see panoramic views of Somes Sound, Isle au Haut, and even Camden from the summit.
