Floral Trail Details
Floral Trail is around 0.4 miles one way, and connects the Dogwood and Honeysuckle Trails. The trailhead for Floral Trail is on Hot Springs Mountain Drive, 50 yards past the Happy Hollow jug fountain. The trail literally uphill both ways, just as your parents' walk to school was so long ago. It crosses Hot Springs Mountain Drive in a valley, with one end on North Mountain and the other on Hot Springs Mountain. Take the right, and you'll cross the drive and follow a zigzag path to a shelter at the Honeysuckle Trail intersection. To the left, there's a mortared stone staircase, which climbs to a gravel path that features blooming dogwoods in the spring. The trail joins the Lower Dogwood Trail loop at a mortared stone bench and a distance marker; here hikers can head left to Arlington Trail or right to the Upper Dogwood Trail.
