East Trail Details
As the name implies, this moderately difficult trail traverses the east side of Schoodic Head. Hikers will walk through pine woodlands and wildflowers in the spring. There's a scenic overlook a little before the summit of the trail; take this side path about .2 miles for 180-degree views from Mount Desert Island to the west through to the Spruce Point Peninsula to the east. The trailhead for the East Trail is a little less than a mile north of the Blueberry Hill parking area. Hikers should leave their cars there and hike north on the one-way loop road to reach the trailhead.
