Acadia Mountain Trail Details
Acadia Mountain Trail makes a steep and strenuous ascent up the west side of Acadia Mountain. While the highest summit offers a tranquil resting area nestled among pitch pines and native blueberries, the views of Somes Sound and the eastern mountains from the east summit are far more rewarding. The trail descends very quickly through woods to cross Man o'War Brook, which is rumored to have served as a fresh water supply for pirate ships during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Trailhead: across from the parking area.
