St. Sauveur Mountain Trail Details
This trail rises constantly, but easily, from the north. While not too strenuous a climb, the wooded mountainside, which was named "Dog Mountain" prior to its addition to the Park, does not provide very good views, even from its pleasant blueberry-covered summit. Just east of the summit, however, is Eagle Cliff, a sheer rock face that rises 500 feet from Valley Cove and allows good views of Somes Sound, the only fjord on the east coast.
