Success Glacier Details

Mount Rainier's Success Glacier lies on its southwestern slope and covers .3 square miles. It's nestled in between the Success Cleaver to the northwest and the Kautz Cleaver to the east, and flows south from a steep rocky slope at 11,000 feet to about 6,000 feet. The glacier connects to the Pyramid Glacier via a small snowfield at about 9,000 feet and the Kautz Glacier at 8,600 feet. These glaciers share the same terminus, and all feed into the Nisqually River.
