Sunset Campground Details
Open seasonally from late fall through mid April, Sunset Campground is a large, first come, first served campground in Death Valley National Park that rarely fills. Located near Furnace Creek, the campground sits on open desert gravel with little to no vegetation, offering wide open views and expansive skies. Car and tent camping are permitted. Individual sites do not include picnic tables or fire grates, and campfires are not allowed except at a few established community fire rings within the campground. Personal fire grates and charcoal grills are prohibited, though gas burning stoves are permitted. Fees are paid at self service stations located within the campground. Amenities include seasonal trash collection, seasonal potable water, flush toilets when in season, and a seasonal dump station. A camp store is available year round nearby. There is no cell service, internet connectivity, laundry, or showers. All sites operate on a first come, first served basis, though the National Park Service reserves the right to hold sites for management needs. Operating dates and services are subject to change.
