Ohe'o Gulch Details
Commonly, if incorrectly, referred to as the Seven Sacred Pools, the pools of Ohe'o Gulch are located in the Kipahula section of the park. Multiple small pools sit below a series of waterfalls, and the Hana Highway passes above on a pretty arched bridge. Swimming in the pools and sunning on the rocks along the Palikea Stream are popular, but the potential for falls, flash floods, and ingesting contaminated water have led the Park Service to advise against these activities. Even on visual value alone, however, the Ohe'o Gulch lives up to its name: it truly is "something special."
