Five Ponds Trail Details
The loop trail leads around the entire base of Trout Brook Mountain, and begins and terminates at the Trout Brook Farm Campground. The trail leads southwest to the west shoulder of Trout Brook Mountain, ascending and descending to a swampy area. Cross the small brook and continue left on the trail, which will wind through several ponds, including Long Pond and High Pond. At mile 3.4 the trail junctions with the Horse Mountain Trail. Continuing, the trail skirts past Littlefield Pond and bears north to a valley between Trout Brook Mountain and Horse Mountain. The junction with Trout Brook Mountain Trail offers another option to return to the Trout Brook Farm Campground. The trail terminates at the campground at the Park Tote Road.
