Blueberry Ledges Trail Details

The Blueberry Ledges Trail is a connector from the Appalachian Trail entrance at the park boundary near Abol Stream that cuts north to Katahdin Stream Campground. From the park boundary, at the information kiosk, turn right onto the trail. It will pass a series of smooth, open granite ledges before a sharp right turn into a woods trail, where footing can be tough and slippery. At 1.8 miles the trail evens out along the crest of the ridge. After a short descent, there are two small books and yet more tricky footing due to large slippery boulders. The trail continues to descend, reaching the Birches Long-Distance Hiker campsite before the Park Tote Road and the Katahdin Stream Campground.
