Woods Walk at Highlands Center Details
If you want a radically different experience during your Cape visit, take this one-mile hike through the Highland Center, formerly the North Truro Air Force Station and full of relics from the Cold War. As you hike through this former coastal radar station you'll see an old helicopter pad, military housing, and a still-active civilian radar dome. You'll also pass through the campus of the Highlands Center, home to the Payomet Performing Arts Center and some interesting outdoor sculpture. The trail starts to the left of the baseball fields at the end of Old Dewline Road and is steep in places; it also includes a walk on a paved road.
