This gentle, little-known trail is good for novice hikers and energetic families who want to avoid the hustle and bustle of more popular paths. The trail leaves the Jordan Pond area and wanders through a forest of striped maple, locally known as "moosewood" because of its popularity with Maine moose. It connects to trails up Sargent and Elliot Mountains, an old carriage road to Brown Mountain, and Thuya Gardens in Northeast Harbor. Trailhead: Jordan Pond House.
