Following the North Fork of the Quinault to the alpine grasslands and lakes on the Low Divide, this valley-bottom trail travels through diverse territory: floodplains, rainforest, riversides, and hillsides. Shaded by the Stika spruce, red cedar, alder, and bigleaf maple that grace its canopy, the trail experiences a number of gentle hillside ascents and deep river crossings before reaching the willows and wildflowers of the Low Divide and the two tranquil alpine lakes situated near the trail's terminus.
