Lake Butte Sunset Guided Tour Details
Evenings along Yellowstone Lake are something special. As the light softens and wildlife becomes more active, this guided tour heads toward the north shore before climbing to the summit of Lake Butte, where sweeping views unfold in every direction. Your driver host adjusts the route based on recent wildlife sightings, road conditions, and the shifting time of sunset. The goal is to arrive at the 8,348 foot summit in time to watch the sun dip below the horizon. From the top, you may see Electric Peak and Mount Washburn to the north and northeast, and, on clear evenings, the distant Grand Tetons rising to the south. As twilight settles in, you will return in a classic Historic Yellow Bus to your starting point. Tours depart from either Lake Yellowstone Hotel or Fishing Bridge RV Park and operate May 16 through October 10, 2026. Departure times shift throughout the season to match sunset. Adult rate is 59.01 dollars and child rate for ages 3 to 11 is 29.51 dollars, with children under 3 free. Taxes and fees are included. Gratuities are appreciated but not included.
