Named after the Arapaho Native American Tribe, the Arapaho National Forest is part of the high Rocky Mountain terrain. This national forest was established during the presidency of Teddy Roosevelt in the early 1900's, and is managed jointly alongside the Pawnee National Grassland. 198 species of birds have been recorded here, and in the fall upwards of 8,000 waterfowl can be observed during their migration.
