Byers's Peak Trail Details
Though short, the Byer's Peak Trail is steep and requires hikers to do some bouldering. The first section of the trail is a thick forest, but with a few vistas overlooking Frasier Valley. Above the tree line, much of the trail is open, with mainly field and gravel hiking terrain. Boulder scrambling occurs closer to the summit. The view from the top is expansive, and awe-inspiring, but can often be shrouded by clouds. With stiff winds and steep slopes, there is no camping along the trail. Below the peak, there are a few small lakes, but these are not easily accessible, especially if you're carrying fishing gear.
