Mirror Lake (V26) Details
During the last Ice Age, Tenaya Canyon was filled by a large glacial lake. Today, this small body of water is all that remains. A favorite of photographers for its still, reflective waters, Mirror Lake has little water much of the year. It is at its fullest in the spring and early summer when Tenaya Creek flows freely with melting snow. There are exhibits along the trail that tell visitors the lake's story and highlight some of the culture and history of the area. The popular Mirror Lake Trail includes a five-mile loop around the lake. Roadside marker: V26 Note: This section of the road is only accessible by the free shuttle bus, by bicycle, or on foot.
