Pio Pico State Historic Park Details

This park is home to the El Ranchito Mansion, the final home of Californias most prominent historical figure - Governor Pío Pico. He governed over Alta California in 1832 and during the Mexican-American War in 1846, shortly before acquiring the land to build his home. Most of the home is restored, as it was severely damaged during two different earthquakes in 1987 and 1994. Guests can explore the 15-room adobe home as well as the 5-acre park and gardens surrounding it.
