Seacliff State Beach Details
This state beach may have beautiful golden shores and towering cliffs, but it also has something most other beaches do not a sunken concrete warship. The SS Palo Alto was used as a transport tanker during WWI, although it now sits at the end of a long pier extending from the beach. It was later opened as an amusement park, pool, and café, although severe damage and bankruptcy led to its permanent closure. While you can no longer hop aboard the ship, you can still enjoy the serene surroundings of the beach. Go for a swim, hit the waves on a surfboard, so simply enjoy a laid-back bonfire while you watch the sunset.
