Clocking in as one of the most visited parks in California, this beach attracts swimmers, hikers, anglers, boaters, surfers, and vacationers. While the entire park is roughly 3,000 acres, most people come to take advantage of beaches along the 3.5-miles of shoreline. Hikers will enjoy the views of the ocean from the San Onofre Bluffs, while surfers can find some gnarly waves at the world-famous Trestles surf site. Overnight visitors can camp at the San Mateo Campgrounds. The park is even home to Panhe, an ancient village and sacred ceremonial site that was used by the Achjachmen people over 8,000 years ago.
