Theres a lot of discovery in this Northern California park. From the rocky coastline to the Douglas fir forest, visitors have a wealth of natural beauty to explore on land. There are 20 miles of hiking trails and multiple campsites for overnight guests. However, the park also has a lot to see offshore as well. It encompasses the first underwater preserve in California, Gerstle Cove, a rich habitat for rockfish and red abalone. Divers and kayakers are free to explore the cove at their leisure. In the winter, you can also spot migrating gray whales heading down to Mexico.
