For a weekend camping in the forest, head to this 720-acre state park just a couple of miles east of downtown Mendocino. There is three private group camping sites in the park, each self-contained with its own cabins, kitchen, dining/recreation hall, bathroom facilities, and bonfire circles. As such, it is a great option for family reunions, corporate events, or even weddings! The campground was by the Civilian Conservation Corps. It was initially intended to be used as a childrens summer camp, although it has always been used for private events since it first opened in the 1930s.
