Built in 1804, this site was once the home of Franklin Pierce, the 14th President of the United States. It is located in the southern New Hampshire town of Hillsborough on a quiet 13-acre property. The 2-story home was built by Pierces father and features four rooms, a kitchen, a parlor, and a full-width ballroom. Pierce lived on the property for most of his childhood, although he made several visits back during his political nomination and term as well. It remained within the Pierce family until 1925, before it was donated to the state and renovated into a museum.
